Detour to be set up for four weeks while bridge over Hunting Quarter Swamp is repaired

SUSSEX COUNTY, Va. –The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) wants to alert drivers in Sussex County to possible traffic impacts associated with the closure of Comans Well Road (Route 642) over Hunting Quarter Swamp. Work will begin Monday morning, July 27, 2015 and continue through Friday, August 21, 2015. Crews will be performing superstructure repairs to the bridge, and traffic will be detoured in both directions.

The detour route is as follows:

Travel west on Comans Well Road (Route 642) for 3 miles and turn right on Courthouse Road (Route 735). Travel north on Courthouse Road for 2.5 miles and turn right on Old Forty Road (Route 634). Travel south on Old Forty Road 2 miles back to Comans Well Road.
