For the week of October 7, 2016 through October 14, 2016.

VDOT Traffic Alert

  • I-64 Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel: Alternating and single-lane closures eastbound and westbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • Eastbound October 10-13 from as early as 8 p.m. until as late as 5 a.m. the following morning.
    • I-64 Westbound at 4th View October 9 from 8 p.m. until as late as 5 a.m. the following morning.
    • Westbound October 12-13 from 9 p.m. until as late as 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel: Alternating lane closures northbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • Northbound October 11 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
  • US-17 James River Bridge: Alternating lane closures northbound and southbound. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • Southbound October 10-14 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
    • Northbound/Southbound October 12-14 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
    • Northbound/Southbound October 10-13 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-64 High Rise Bridge: Single-lane closures as follows eastbound and westbound. One lane will remain open at all times:
    •  Eastbound October 9 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning from Treacle of bridge to Elizabeth City/Dominion Boulevard.
    • Eastbound /Westbound October 10-13 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning
  • Terminal Boulevard Resurfacing, Norfolk: Full weeknight/weekend closures westbound as follows:
    • Westbound Weekend of October 7-2: Full closure from Friday at 8 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.
    • Westbound Weeknights October 4-5 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-64 HOV Reversible Roadway, Norfolk: HOV Reversible Roadway will be closed October 10-14 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
  • I-64 Westbound, Peninsula: Single-lane closures as follows westbound. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • Westbound October 9-13 from 9 p.m. until as late as 5 a.m. the following morning at Lee Hall in Newport News.
    • Eastbound October 9-13 from 9 p.m. until as late as 5 a.m. the following morning at Camp Peary in York County.
  • I-64 Westbound, Chesapeake: Single-lane closures as follows westbound. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • Westbound October 9 from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning at Deep Creek Business Route.
  • Military Highway Continuous Flow Intersection, Norfolk: Alternating single-lane closures as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • October 9-15: Alternating single-lane closures northbound and southbound from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m.the following morning on Military Highway between Valley Drive and Lynn Street.
    • October 9-15: Alternating single-lane closures eastbound and westbound from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning on Princess Anne Road, between Sigmon Street and the intersection of Military Highway.
    •  October 9-15: Alternating single-lane closures eastbound and westbound from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning on Northampton Boulevard between the intersection of Military Highway and past USAA Drive.
    • October 9-15: Alternating single-lane closures eastbound and westbound from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning on Robin Hood Road between Ellsmere Avenue and Miller Store Road.
  • US-17 Sidney B. Hazelwood Bridge, Isle of Wight County: Alternating lane closures southbound in Carrolton. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • October 9-13 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • U.S. 460, Wakefield: Alternating lane closures eastbound and westbound on U.S. 460. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • October 10-12 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
    • October 13 from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m.
  • U.S. 58, Southampton County: Alternating lane closures eastbound and westbound on U.S. 58 before Route 35. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • October 10-13 from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
    • October 14 from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m.
  • U.S. 58, Southampton County: Alternating lane closures eastbound on U.S. 58 between Market Street and Halifax Street. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • October 12-13 from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.
    • October 14 from 6 a.m. until 12 p.m.
  • I-95 Northbound, Sussex County: Alternating lane closures northbound and full on-ramp and off-ramp closures as follows. Only one ramp will close at a time:
    • Alternating lane closures on I-95 northbound between exit 24 and exit 34 October 9-14 from 6:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the following morning.
    • I-95 northbound full on-ramp and off-ramp closure to and from Route 40 (exit 31) October 9-14 from 6:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the following morning.
    • I-95 northbound full on-ramp and off-ramp closure to and from Route 602 (exit 33) October 9-14 from 6:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m.the following morning.  
  • US-13 (Lankford Highway), Accomack County: Consecutive single-lane closures northbound between Route 179 and Taylor Road. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • September 6-December 5 from 12 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • US-13 (Lankford Highway), Accomack County: Consecutive single-lane closures southbound between Route 179 and Taylor Road. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • September 26-November 29 from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Route 301 Sussex County: Full consecutive closure for bridge replacement September 2016 through December 2017 on Route 301 between VA-40 and Route 642.
  • I-64 Widening Project, Newport News: Single-lane closures eastbound and westbound October 9-13 as early as 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. All work will take place between Jefferson Avenue and Fort Eustis, and one lane will remain open to traffic at all times.   • Elizabeth River Tunnels/Martin Luther King, Jr. Freeway:  Please check Elizabeth River Tunnels website for the latest closure and detour information regarding the Downtown Tunnel, Midtown Tunnel and the MLK Freeway.
  • George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17), York County: Crews are widening the road between Route 630 (Wolf Trap Road) and Route 706 (Hampton Highway). Daytime single-lane closures, from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. and weeknight single-lane closures, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Expect traffic shifts and delays.
