The purpose of the hearing is to solicit public input on the proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application of the County of Sussex for the Pocahontas Neighborhood Improvement Project to be submitted to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development on March 29, 2017, under their Community Investment Grant (CIG) competitive grants category. Property owners and others interested in this project are encouraged to attend.
The draft CDBG proposal will be presented for comment along with information on the proposed improvement activities that will serve to benefit low-to-moderate income persons in the project area. Information on projected beneficiaries, including the number of low- and moderate- income residents to benefit from the proposed project and a fact sheet on the proposal which includes the proposed project budget will be provided.
