Notice is hereby given to all interested persons that the Sussex County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Thursday , July 17, 2014 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, Sussex Judicial Center, 15098 Courthouse Drive, Sussex VA 23884, pursuant to Title 15.2-1800, Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, to consider:
The conveyance of a hunting lease on a parcel of property currently known as the Henry Technology Park and Commerce Center described as;
Parcel A: 165-A-31
All that certain tract or parcel of land lying situate and being on the southwest side of Route 609 (Lebanon Church Road) and on the east side of Route 612 (Proctor Road) in the Henry Magisterial District, Sussex County, Virginia, shown to contain 77.15 acres on that certain map or plat entitled “PLAT OF SURVEY FOR EMPORIA FARM, LLC,” made April 14, 2006, by James T. Bradley, L.S., a copy of which is recorded in the Clerk’s Office of the Circuit Court of Sussex County, Virginia, Plat Book 21 at Page 182, reference to which plat is hereby made for a more particular description of said property.

All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being on the southwest side of Route 609 (Lebanon Church Road) and on the east side of Route 612 (Proctor Road) in the Henry Magisterial District, Sussex County, Virginia, shown to contain 36.51 acres on that certain map or plat entitled “PLAT OF SURVEY FOR EMPORIA FARM, LLC” made April 14, 2006, by James T. Bradley, L.S., a copy which is recorded in the Clerk’s Office of the Circuit Court of Sussex County, Virginia in Plat Book 21 at page 182, reference to which plat is hereby made for a more particular description of said property.
Parcel C: 165-A-19
All that certain tract or parcel of land lying situate and being on the southeast side of U.S. Route 301, on the south side of Route 609 (Lebanon Church Road) and on the west side of Route 612 (Proctor Road) in the Henry Magisterial District, Sussex County, Virginia, shown to contain 423.63 acres on that certain map or plat entitled “PLAT OF SURVEY FOR EMPORIA FARM, LLC” made April 14, 2006, by James T. Bradley, L.S., a copy which is recorded in the Clerk’s Officeof the Circuit Court of Sussex County, Virginia in Plat Book 21 at page 183, reference to which plat is hereby made for a more particular description of said property. The initial lease will be from September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2015 with the County having the option of renewing the lease annually for up to 3 successive years. The Board will consider the conveyance to any interested person or group. Anyone interested in leasing such parcels should submit a written proposal, to include a $50.00 non-refundable application fee to the Finance Office located in the County Administration Building, Mailing Address: Post Office Box 1397, Sussex VA 23884; Physical address 20135 Princeton Road, Sussex VA 23884 prior to the public hearing. The Board, in awarding the lease, will consider a variety of factors from the proposals that will further theCounty’s interest, including but not limited to, annual lease payment offered, any promised assistance to local non-profits or an applicant’s ability to make improvements to protect the tract or provide other services of value to County citizens. Proposals must be submitted to the County Administrators Office no later than 4:00 pm, Tuesday, August 12, 2014. A copy of the plat showing property owned by Sussex County and designated at theHenry Technology Park and Commerce Center is available for review in the Office of the County Administrator/Clerk to the Board of Supervisors, 20135 Princeton Road, SussexVA 23884, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.; Tel. 434 246 1000.
