ROUTE 637 BRIDGE (RAILROAD BED ROAD) OVER JONES HOLE SWAMP TO CLOSE FOR REPAIRS
SUSSEX COUNTY– Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close Route 637 Bridge (Railroad Bed Road) over the Jones Hole Swamp for superstructure repairs beginning Monday, January 4, 2016 at 8 a.m. The full bridge closure will last for four weeks, and is scheduled to be complete by Friday, Jan. 29. Signed detours will be in place.
Traffic will be detoured as follows:
Northbound Traffic: Travel north onto Railroad Bed Road (Route 637) for 1 mile and turn right onto Jerusalem Plank Road (Route 35). Travel south onto Jerusalem Plank Road for 3 miles and turn right onto Cabin Point Road (Route 602). Travel west onto Cabin Point Road 3 miles back to Railroad Bed Road.
Southbound Traffic: Travel south onto Railroad Bed Road (Route 637) for 1.7 miles and turn left onto Cabin Point Road (Route 602). Travel east onto Cabin Point Road for 3 miles and turn left onto Jerusalem Plank Road (Route 35). Travel north onto Jerusalem Plank Road for 3 miles back to Railroad Bed Road.
