Notice of Public Hearing for Conditional Use Permit 2013
Notice is hereby given that the Sussex County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom, Sussex Judicial Center, 15098 Courthouse Road, Sussex, Virginia, 23884 to consider passage of the following:
Conditional Use Permit Application #2013-01: Pursuant to Section 16-22 (27) of the Zoning Ordinance, the applicant, Iluka Resources Inc., seeks a conditional use permit to allow the excavation and mining of mineral sands on tax map numbers 101-A-39 (consisting of 137 acres) and 101-(A)-40 (consisting of 2.9 acres). The parcels in question, owned by Robert Wayne Grizzard, Arthur R. Poole Jr., and Betty S. Poole, are zoned A-1, General Agricultural District which allows the proposed use with a conditional use permit. The affected properties are located on the south line of Route 616 (Stewart Road) in the Stony Creek Election District.
