Sussex County is soliciting written sealed bids from licensed and insured general contractors to perform clearing and re-grading an existing drainage channel from Higgins Street to King Street to provide positive drainage and armoring areas of erosion potential and the installation of four fire hydrants in the Sussex County Pocahontas Neighborhood Improvement Project area of Sussex County. The funds to be used are part of a Federal Community Improvement Grant/Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program through the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development.
The County of Sussex, Virginia, will be accepting written sealed bids for this project until 3:00 p.m. local time, on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at which time all the submitted bids shall be publicly opened, read aloud, and recorded. No faxed or e-mailed bids will be accepted. A pre-bid conference will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 10:00 am local time, at the Wakefield Town Office, 200 West Main Street, Wakefield, VA 23888.
