Sussex County Board of Supervisors and Sussex County Planning Commission Joint Public Hearing

Pursuant to Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia, notice is hereby given that the Sussex County Board of Supervisors and Sussex Planning Commission will hold a joint public hearing on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom – Sussex Judicial Center, 15098 Courthouse Road, Sussex, Virginia 23884 to consider the following:
The Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors will consider, and may take action upon, the following:
Zoning Text Amendment 2025-02: Amendment to the Sussex County Code, Chapter 34, Article III, Division 8, Limited Business (B-1) District, Section 34-40, Use Regulations, and Division 9, General Business (B-2) District, Section 34-477, Use Regulations to add Motor Vehicle Repair Service, Major as a permitted “by-right” use in both districts.
Citizens are encouraged to attend and comment during the public hearings. Comments may also be submitted in writing to sricks@sussexcountyva.gov or via mail to the County Administration, P. O. Box 1397, 20135 Princeton Road, Sussex, VA 23884, no later than noon on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Any persons needing assistance or accommodations under the provisions of the American Disabilities Act should contact Michael Poarch at 434-246-1043 at least seven (7) days in advance of the hearing.
