Sussex County Sheriff’s Office Hunter-Landowner Rights Community Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sussex County Elementary School Gym. This meeting is being hosted by the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with the Virginia Conservation Police, Sussex County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office & Sussex County Animal Control.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide hunters, private landowners, law enforcement, and other community stakeholders with an opportunity to discuss hunter and landowner rights, recent legislative changes taking effect July 1, 2026, applicable county ordinances, and the enforcement of those laws. The event will include a question-and-answer session and discussion regarding the potential establishment of a local hunter/landowner committee in Sussex County.
