Ashcraft Named Sussex Interim County Administrator
SUSSEX, VA – Longtime local government executive Percy C. Ashcraft has been named Interim County Administrator for Sussex County, announced Board of Supervisors Chairman Steve White.
Ashcraft was unanimously appointed following a special meeting of the Board of Supervisors on September 3. He will serve in the post for the next few months until the permanent position is filled. An executive search headed by the Berkeley Group will begin soon.
Ashcraft has over 30 years of experience after serving as the chief executive for the City of Clarksburg, WV and the counties of Caroline, Prince George and King William in the Commonwealth. He most recently has been serving as a special consultant to the Town of Bowling Green, the county seat of Caroline County.
“We are very pleased to have Mr. Ashcraft serve as our interim administrator until we can fill the position permanently,” commented White. “He understands how to move our government operations along and prepare to hand it off to a permanent successor.”
Ashcraft is currently the President of Ashcraft Community Partners (ACP), an LLC which specializes in consulting for local government bodies and non-profit organizations. Ashcraft will begin his tenure with Sussex County on September 8.
