  • Rain is expected to mix with and changeover to all snow across the Piedmont late Friday as low pressure passes through North Carolina.
  • A small accumulation of heavy, wet snow is possible.

  • Accumulating snow.

  Timing

  • Late Friday afternoon into Friday night.

  Location

  • The best chance for accumulating snow (~1″) is south of Virginia Hwy 460 and west of Interstate 95.
  • A mix of rain and snow is possible even into Hampton Roads and northeast North Carolina Friday night with little or no accumulation expected.

  Hazards and Impacts

  • Travel may become hazardous late Friday afternoon into Friday night due to a small accumulation of heavy, wet snow.
  • This event appears to be all rain or snow. No freezing rain or ice is expected.
