Solar Energy Facility/ Battery Storage Facilities Information
As the nation’s global energy needs increase, energy providers look towards renewable sources to meet the state’s energy goals and demands. Solar energy is emerging as one of the fastest growing solutions for energy needs. Sussex County has approved several solar energy facilities and/or battery storage facilities throughout the County. The County has developed a land use policy and recommendations for regulating utility scale solar facilities within their Comprehensive Plan. The County has also developed regulatory provisions and standards for solar and battery facilities within their zoning ordinance.
